Books on our list: Faludi’s Terror Dream
By M the Pedagogue | October 2, 2007
Oh boy. Our girl Susan (of Backlash fame) is out with The Terror Dream: Fear and Fantasy in Post-9/11 America and we’re going to add it to the American Heresy library ASAP.
From Yahoo’s review:
By retreating to a comfortable myth, she asserts, the nation essentially closed its eyes.
Here’s hoping she takes a stab at why we find comfort in some myths and not others. In the meantime, if you’ve read the book, let’s hear it. Or if you know why we like our heroes and victims the way we do, we await your comments.
